“I hope life on Earth is everything you remember it to be.”…
Inspired by the movie Moon (2009) by Duncan Jones staring Sam Rockwell, the movie dealt with many topics, but in particular identity and how it becomes, is given or constructed.
This painting uses the Japanese regional advertising as its basis. Where the movie also deals with indifference, coldness, sterility and exploitation of corporations, Moon: Japanese Clone puts the humanity back in with texture, ruggedness and chaos. The closer you get the painting, the more you see human imperfection, sincerity and beauty.
